by Jami-chan Part 7 The wind blew gently over the desolate landscape, no sign of life visible. Except, that is, for the lone figure that sat on the ground. The person hadn’t moved for hours, and seemed to be in a state of meditation. The small, glowing aura that surrounded the person could confirm that. One would note that the person had blonde hair, done up in pigtails. She was tall and wore the clothes of one who lived with royalty. But why would someone who lived with royalty be in the middle of the desert? ~~~~~ I can’t believe he banished me... Uub was my last hope of getting back into that palace. That black haired man ruined my chances of that. I wonder who he was? Someone strong enough to kill Uub... One of the strongest on the planet? ... Well, there’s no time to dwell on that right now. I’ll deal with the man in my own time and way. Marron thought as she opened her eyes, leaving her state of meditation. Standing up, the blonde stretched delicately as she continued thinking. While meditating, I saw a path... That path led me straight to Kind Goten. Perhaps that is where I shall go now. I’m positive I can convince the ‘good’ King Goten to help me in my quest. He’ll be angry with King Trunks when he leaves anyways. And I’m sure Lady Pan can be convinced to help me as well. We’ll have to see I guess. A few moments later, Marron had come up with a plan she thought couldn’t possibly fail. A smirk on her face, the Ex-Lady Marron started off on her way towards the border that separated Western and Eastern Vegeta. ********* Juunanagou stared blankly at Bra as she finished telling her story. Bra had told him how Marron came to be a high ranking officer and a Lady in her brother’s kingdom and how she had become Marron’s apprentice, as well as everything else leading up to Marron’s banishing. Frankly, Juunanagou was shocked. He would’ve thought a daughter of his sister’s wouldn’t have been so cruel, especially with how kind her father seemed. According to the Princess, Marron had tortured thousands and killed them without mercy. She never showed the slightest bit of emotion while fighting, killing or torturing except anger and hate. She sounds exactly like Juuhachi... Only Juuhachi wasn’t really like that. She was only acting. Pretending. Hiding her true self. Juunanagou thought, turning away from Princess Bra and King Trunks. From what I can tell, Marron is a power hungry warrior who wants nothing more than to take control of this. Trunks sounded surprised when Bra mentioned the conspiracy Marron had been planning... He must not have known. Sighing, Juunanagou turned towards the balcony. “I guess I’ll be leaving then.” He said calmly. “Thank you for your help.” Bra blinked and jumped up. “Wait!!” Juunanagou looked at her over his shoulder, “Yes?” “You need somewhere to stay, don’t you?” Bra asked, hesitating slightly. Juunanagou smiled a small, barely detectable smile. “I guess I do, don’t I? Do you know of any tavers I could stay in?” “We have plenty of rooms here,” Bra replied quietly, sweeping her arms out in a half circle, motioning to the rest of the castle. “Would you like to stay here until the tournament is over? It’d be a pleasure to have you here. Afterall, you did save my life.” She smiled brightly at him. “Are you positive I wouldn’t be a bother?” “We’d be glad to have you here,” Trunks put in his two cents worth, putting his hand on Bra’s shoulder. Bra smiled up at her brother. Ever since she’d kicked out Marron, her and her brother had started having a much better brother-sister relationship. Juunanagou bowed to them. “Thank you, your highnesses.” “It’s no problem at all,” Bra said as she walked over to Juunanagou. She then linked her arm through his. “I’ll show you to one of the guest bedrooms. Would you like a servant to bring you some food? You must be hungry...” Bra continued to chat away as she lead a surprised and slightly blushing Juunanagou out of the room. Once they were gone, Trunks chuckled to himself and ordered some guards to clean up his sister’s room. I wonder what Lady Pan is doing right now... No sooner than the thoughts had left his mind, than a blood curdling scream of pain and anguish sounded in the direction of Lady Pan’s room. Eyes narrowing, Trunks immediately started towards the direction from which the scream had come. It had been, without a doubt, the scream of a female. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Goten snarled and kicked Pan in the stomach as she screamed. Pan coughed up a bit of blood and tried not to let off another sound of pain. Goten then took out a device and aimed it at Pan. Pan’s eyes went wider than one would think was possible. “Yo-your majesty... Goten... Pl-please... Not that...” Flaring his ki, Goten formed a barrier soley around his head and around the room, so the affects of the device would not leave the room they were in. Then, moving his finger over to the red button on the device, he smirked and pressed down on it hard. A high pitched sound immediatly filled the room. Pan cupped her ears immediatly and screamed. Her ear drums were pounding wildly in her head, and the volume and intensity of the sound soon caused her ears to start bleeding. A moment later, Trunks and a few guards burst through the door, and, surprised, Goten dropped the device and turned, wide eyed, to face Trunks. “Ki-King Trunks!” Trunks growled low in his throat. “Lady Pan, please get over here. NOW!” Pan, nearly covered in blood from her beating, scrambled to her feet and ran behind Trunks, collapsing to the ground as soon as she got behind him. Her ki level had been knocked down drastically, and it’d taken most of her remaining energy to do as Trunks had asked. Despite himself, Goten gulped and took a step back. Why is he so angry...? I SWEAR he’s about to jump into super saiya-jin... But... His treatment of Princess Bra is supposed to be bad... That’s what I’d heard... I mean... Grrr... She’s a wench just like Pan and deserves no better treatment! “King Trunks, I don’t see why you’re so angry. Neither my neice nor your sister deserve any better treatment than what I’m giving Pan.” Goten sneered after a moment. Trunks’ eyes narrowed considerably. “Lord Goten, I’m afraid I’ve come to my decision after your last statement. I refuse to let you mate with my sister. I’m offering your niece the chance to stay here, and I want you out by morning.” Turning to the two guards, he continued speaking. “I want two guards posted by this door until King Goten is out of this castle.” Then he turned to Lady Pan, and smiled gently down upon her. “Lady Pan, you’re welcome to stay here as long as you wish; you could stay permanently if you wish. I really hope you’ll consider my offer. I’d hate to let you leave with your Uncle, after seeing the cruelity with which he treats you. Why don’t you come with me for now? And I’ll make sure you get the medical attention you need.” Pan nodded softly, smiling a small smile as a show of gratitude. As they two left the room, leaving the two guards to watch over Goten, Trunks called back to Goten over his shoulder. “You’re still welcome to participate in the tournament, even though I’m asking, no, demanding that you leave this castle before nine o’clock tomorrow morning. Sorry, but I don’t agree with your treatment of women.” Goten’s eyes narrowed at Trunks’ back as he watched the other King leave with his niece. That moment then and there, he swore revenge on King Trunks for treating him with so little respect. Goten was brought up believing no one had the right to tell him what to do, or take anything away from him. Just you wait and see King Trunks... You’re just like my brother and you’ll die just as he did. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ The next day... Trunks stood up and glanced to the opposite side of the stadium, where King Goten sat with a few of his royal guards. Behind him sat Pan, Bra, and Juunanagou. Hoshi, Hanita, Nagareboshi, Gamu, Urusai and Koosha were down on the ground, waiting for the tournament to start. With a sigh of frustration at the unlikely turn of events (Uub getting killed), Trunks looked out at the crowd before looking down at the fighters to speak. “An unlikely turn of events has fallen upon our shoulders. Last night, Lord Uub attacked Princess Bra, and was killed by the good warrior, Juunanagou; who now sits in the royal seats due to his deed. Because of this, we’ve had to change the schedule of the tournament just a bit. “Instead of myself fighting right away, we’ve decided that the fight shall go like this: Hoshi Ryu vs. Urusai in the first match. Hanita vs Gamu in the second match. In the third match, Nagareboshi will face King Goten, as planned. Then, Koosha and Juunanagou will fight. Lady Pan and Princess Bra shall fight last. After that, they’ll go on to fight in the second round and so on. The last fighter standing will face me, seeing as I was the winner last year. “This said, let the matches begin!” Trunks said as he took his seat again. The crowd roared wildly in anticipation. A moment later, Hoshi and Urusai were standing across from each other in the ring. A bell dinged and the two bowed shortly to each other. Then they both disappeared from sight. Trunks’ eyes widened slightly in surprise. He wasn’t expecting them to be as good as they were. His eyes followed their every move as they flew throughout the ring. It seemed as if Hoshi had the upper hand, but Urusai soon changed the outlook of that. Urusai grabbed Hoshi’s knee as she went to knee him the gut, and his other hand shot out and grabbed her arm. He flipped her over him and she flew towerad the crowd. Several people who could threw up shields of ki, half expecting her to hit them. However, she regained her balance before she even came close to hitting them, and flew back at Urusai. Hoshi punched him square in the nose and managed to sucessfully knee him in the gut. Urusai retaliated with a ki blast, which Hoshi easily deflected, sending one of her own back at him. The blast was too quick and strong for Urusai to deflect, so he threw his arms up in front of him to try and block it. The blast, however, was far too strong. Hoshi had pushed a significant amount of ki into the blast, and it caused Urusai to go spiraling down. He hit the ground outside of the ring with a thud. Hoshi snickered. “Urursai-kun, I thought you’d be a much more decent challenge than that. That fight was over far to quickly.” From his spot on the ground, Urusai opened his eyes and smiled a dazzling smile up at his long time friend. “Ooh well, I’m sure you’ll have a much better fight with the winner of the next match.” Hoshi laughed and dropped down to help them up, and shortly after, they left the stage. Standing back up, Trunks declared Hoshi as the winner, obviously. Then he stated that the second match fighters could now enter the arena. Hanita and Gamu entered the ring. A half an hour later, Gamu left the ring on a stretcher, and a worn out, winded Hanita flashed a smile and a victory sign towards the crowd, before leaving the ring. The third match was announced, and Nagareboshi narrowly missed victory when Goten pulled out a ring from his pocket which was made out of Dragon’s Bane ( AN: I only know about this because Nagareboshi is actually one of my other online characters (hoshi is one too), and Ben/Gryph let me know about it...). Being a Psudo-Dragon, Nagareboshi was immediatly affected and was forced to admit defeat and give up. Goten, of course, was announced the winner, though many scowled upon the tactics he used to win. The fourth match was between Koosha and Juunanagou. Juunanagou won within seconds. The fifth match was between Bra and Pan. Using the Kamehameha wave to an extreme extent, Pan managed to win after being forced to go SSJ2 to do so. This surprised and shocked many, including Goten and Trunks. After a brief intermission, the second round of fighting continued. Hoshi faced off against Hani in the first match of the second round, and won after being pushed into SSJ. The second match of the second round was Juunanagou versus Goten. Juunanagou won, with much trouble, after Goten failed to beat him at a ki beam contest. Then, Hoshi fought again. This time against Pan. They were equally matched in SSJ2, but Pan managed a narrow victory. An hour later, after the crowd and the fighters had lunch, Pan was back in the ring, facing Juunanagou. The fight was the longest so far, lasting from noon until dusk. In the end, Pan won. Seeing as it was already so late, Trunks called an end to fighting for the day. He insisted that Lady Pan be in her best possible conditions when she fought him. Pan left the arena, feeling extremely guilty for not being able to face her uncle and throw the match to him. Despite the incident where Trunks threw her Uncle out of the castle, Pan was still loyal to her family. ~*~*~*~*~ The next day.... At 9:00 AM sharp, the arena was filled to the brim with an extreme amount of people who had come to watch the fight. Pan and Trunks squared off in the ring for what seemed like an eternity. The fight finally ended at 4:00 PM, when Trunks managed to knock Pan out of the ring. The entire time they’d been fighting, a cloaked figure had watched from the shadows, sent by Marron to report back to her the fighting statistics of all those who might cause any threat to the blonde warrioress. And while the tournament had went on in Eastern Vegeta, Marron had managed to slip into King Goten’s castle in Western Vegeta, only encountering one guard that she actually had to kill. When the “good” King Goten returned to his castle, she would be there. Waiting for him. Then her plan would be one more step towards completion. Despite the set back that occured when Juunanagou killed Uub. |
