Chapter 2 : Black Mirror.

Lovely Girl you’re the beauty in my world.

Without you there aren’t reasons left to find.

And I’ll pull your crooked teeth

You’ll be perfect just like me.

A bitter sneer came from a young blue haired woman sitting beneath a willow tree. For hours she had been doing nothing but staring over the little lake and thinking about her life.

What a life it has been the last two years. Her mind wandered back to the afternoon her ‘’plan” had been activated.

Since she had entered puberty, learning to fight had been one of the few things, which had been constant in her mind.

Whenever she asked her father to learn her, he growled one response “It is not fit for a princess and that is final”

Usually her father had been wrapped around her little finger as soon as she pulled out the “sad puppy” look, but somehow this was the only case that he wasn’t open to her manipulation.

Mother had been her saving grace as usual when she made a little suggestion. “Why…Sweetie you can ask Pan if she wants to help you train.”

Only seconds later she had ordered the phone from her brother and placed a call to Pan. Always keen on new adventure so she agreed.

The only thing left standing between her and training was her father’s wrath when he finds out. Yet again thanks to her mother this problem was soon conquered.

For her eighteenth birthday she received a very big present from her mother. At her party she got a set of plane tickets, which she already knew a couple of months early.

Two months before B- day the three lady’s held a meeting in the local cafeteria where a certain sayjin male would never show his face.

Being the richest and one of the smartest women alive, Bulma already had a plan. She would arrange for them to go one of Bulma’s secret islands. Yes it was totally outrages but the woman just shrugged and said “A girl has to have some secrets” Even the matter of Vegeta picking up their ki rising had been taken care of. On the island stood a large building in which they would be safe. And they had told him they would keep their ki low to avoid getting attention so he shouldn’t worry when he couldn’t detect them.

Their cover story was going to be that She and Pan would go on a trip around the world.

When Bulma had dropped the bomb at the party, Gohan hadn’t been very happy. The prospect of his seventeen-year-old daughter going away for almost six months nearly pushed him into SSJ inside Bulma’s home.

A lot of persuading and manipulation administrated to Gohan by his daughter and wife afterwards. The reason that pulled him over was that Pan would get to see all those famous works of art in Europe.

“What a joke” Bra growled thinking of those days that she had been a totally different woman.

Staring into the black mirror at her feet she wondered what she was going to do now. “Nothing,” she murmured at her own image in the dark water. She walked towards a little field with flowers as soon as she laid down the memories flooded her thoughts again.

The big day had finally arrived. After the normal stressful morning before takeoff and a long flight they finally arrived at their destination. From here they would fly the last part and finally start training.

Surprisingly enough despite her lack of training Bra catched on very quickly and after five months of intense training the women had reached the threshold of training they could do, despite the special building they were in Vegeta would catch them if they tried to go higher. The only barrier they both couldn’t break without help was the one of SSJ. Despite the women decided to stay and work another month on hand-to-hand combat without ki and agility training.

It was in this month something changed inside of her. Bra never thought she could fall for someone else but her treasured Goten. “All this time I chased him when all he did was remind me of the one I wanted” Confusion crawled around in her brain for weeks. All her thoughts had circled around two questions. “Am I really in love with her?” and “Why did it come on now?” The second question she had known the answer to already. Her feelings towards the black haired woman had always been stronger than friendship she just hadn’t admitted it to her self.

Her musings even had come up to the point that she would stare into the ocean for hours without moving.

One evening the two partly alien girls made a bonfire and roasted marshmallows.

Breaking the comfortable silence Pan decided to ask the question that had been bugging her since Bra’s phone call.

“Why did you want to learn to fight Bra?”

Although she knew that sooner or later she would have to answer she was quite startled by it. After a couple of moments she slowly and thoughtfully gave her reasons. “I…I just felt the need…you know. But most off all I needed to fit in. I felt like an outsider in my own family. ‘’

“But why do you feel like you don’t fit in?” Pan asked truly concerned for the girl that was so different from her yet so similar.

“It’s too hard. I am not human nor am I a sayjin. Always I have to be alert to keep my strength in check but when I can let go I am to weak to fit in.” Bra tried so hard to keep her walls up but she couldn’t she just crashed. Pan tried to comfort her but she just sobbed louder. In an attempt to help her she just held the crying girl and listened while she told everything that had been held behind her fake smile for years. Even though Pan had always known their was something more to the girl that she had showed but she would have never guessed there would be someone in this world who had the same problems as her. This hit to close to home for her comfort.

Finally Bra had calmed down and started to recollect herself “I am sorry Pan I didn’t mean to crash like that.”

When she noticed something. Pan was trying her hardest not to crash down herself. ‘’ Hey what’s wrong? You can tell it to me, you help me I help you all-right? ” She asked carefully not wanting to sound insensitive.

Sniffling Pan also started to tell what had bothered her. Their problems were amazingly similar. Except for one thing.

“Bra please don’t freak on me or something but I have get something of my chest and you’re the only one I trust to not completely freak on me ” she said while looking at her toes. An excited thought fluttered momentarily trough Bra’s head. “NO don’t get your hopes up” she thought and said “sure tell me I promises not to freak and to keep it a secret”

“Um please don’t think this is just a faze or something. Eh I think I fell in love,” Pan said a little embarrassed.

Confused the other woman looked at her “That’s wonderful why would I freak out?” Even to herself it sounded fake but luckily Pan didn’t notice.

“No let me finish ehm I fell in love with a woman I think,” came out barely but loud enough for her to pick up.

Again Bra’s heart fluttered while her curiosity kicked in full-force. A sly smile spread across her face.

“Pan may I know who is the lucky lady?” Pan looked up to her with shock and surprise shining in her black eyes.

“Bra I don’t want to ruin our friendship. I am afraid this will.” She whispered more to herself than another person.

Excitement ran trough every vain in Bra’s body. She decided to take the chance to let her friend into her little secret.

Pan was still on edge not sure of what her friend thought of her now. “Calm down Pan as a matter of fact I have a little secret of my own to share.” Before Pan had a chance to even look curious she blurted it out “I think I also fell in love with a woman.”

Now it was Pan’s turn to get excited and a sly smile also spread across her face. “Mmm Bra may I know who the lucky lady is?”

“No no doncha know that curiosity killed the cat,” was her answer.

The two woman were now looking at each other with a new kind of confidence in their eyes. Suddenly one spoke up and said ‘’ Seems that we agree on this care to play this little game to its end?”

“Of course,” said the other.

“Ah Hell, I never could keep a secret. Ahm Pan I hope I don’t ruin our friendship but I have to tell you. The woman I fell in love with has black hair and carries an orange Bandana around with her and” before she could finish the quartair sayjin reacted and kissed her with a passion she would have never expected from her. “Her name is Son Pan,” she finished.

“By the way I could get used to this,” she said meaningful while she swept Pan of her feet and dragged her into the ocean to continue their little game.

That and the following days had been quite straining she smiled devilishly while chewing on the end of a flower.

But they both had known that they had to go back and “face the music”

The events had occurred a year ago, even now they still had to fight. That’s why she and Pan had yet again made a plan. This time it was very serious. Knowing that their fathers would never except them as a couple.

Hope had been in both their hearts when they decide to inform their families.

Suddenly she tensed feeling her brothers ki closing in on her. “Hmpf he has the curtiousy to leave me alone with my thoughts long enough but doesn’t realise he is helping making his own sister miserable” She flew up and straight towards her brother.

“Hey Bra I came to tell you that dad wants you home in five minutes or he is coming himself” She just flew past him towards her home and without bothering to go inside to eat she just flew into her room and locked herself in for the rest of the evening and night.

That evening in the kitchen the rest of the Briefs family sat down for an awfully quiet dinner.
