by Angelica Chapter Two: Emotion Sickness
{Excerpt from "lover you should have come over" from Jeff Buckley} I’m broken down and hungry for your love Sometimes a man gets carried away
‘Black……Blue……twisting……fading…Damn it all to hell!…I will NOT be defeated by this! Emotions will not defeat me……killing……hating……dissolving into madness…no…’ It all blurred into one thought as he felt another wave of pain rolling towards him.
An earth-shattering scream ripped through the skies. Cradling his head so furiously that thick strands of black hair twisted themselves around bloodstained fingers. As sudden as it started, the pain left. Filled with new determination, his faze shot to the sky. Liberated… ‘Yes freedom…the Prince is back…no more crippling feelings…’ A dark fire rekindled deep in his soul, a decisive scowl set on cold features. Slowly he arose from the green sand of his "private training planet". A new plot formed in the back of his head as he blasted off in the tattered CC ship. ‘Yes, it truly is good to be back.’ Now to put himself to the test.
In the heart of a burning star, the last of the full sayjins prepared himself for impact the aquamarine planet. Sayjin tradition always had demanded that a sayjin who made mistakes like mating with any race except sayjins were…corrected. Preferably by the sinner himself. Empty eyes bored through the blue sky in search of their goal.
"10 seconds for impact, please prepare for impact." Vegeta braced himself, with a cruel scowl and a mischievous glint in his eyes, those gave him the appearance of a strong man who did not stop for anything.
"Mother what is wrong?" came from a worried man as he saw his mother going through several violent mood swings. "Trunks…I feel so much hate yet it conflicts with enormous guilt…No. Shut up. Leave." A high-pitched scream filled with hurt attacked the young man’s sensitive hearing. Suddenly her head shot up, with amazing speed she got up and ran towards the garden. Her blue eyes fixated themselves on a falling star in the dark night.
Now devoid from any emotion, the aqua-haired female and the short window peaked man faced each other silently in the garden. The thing that scared Bulma immensely was that she couldn’t see him anymore, all she saw was an uncaring and cruel man, the love they shared for so long seemed to have vanished. The bond was fading between them as if Vegeta had died, she could feel the hate and turmoil slip into her own conscience. Suddenly, a row of images invaded Bulma’s mind. The beautiful features of the woman unconsciously twisted into an expression of horror. The images showed nothing less but the death of herself and her son. Her body turned ice cold as she realized the looks she was receiving from her mate. An amused expression set on his face as he tortured Bulma mentally be "sending" these images of his plans. He started to laugh as he saw the uncontrollable panic taking Bulma over.
Something started to stir within him, fighting to break down the wall again, to stop the madness. His form started to shift as he saw the fear battling the love she still held in her eyes. The dark fire in his soul started to shimmer to yellow again. Bulma dared to look up to the prince again, this time she started to doubt her own eyes. Vegeta sad on his knees, hunched over, cradling his head in his hands. His aura kept shimmering from black to gold as it a momentous battle raged inside his mind. Cautiously, the woman approached the form. The man seemed to relax under her touch. Slowly the aura tinted golden as it he was struggling not to fall back again. "Bulma…forgive me please…" sounded smothered. Bulma picked up his intention. "What? What’s wrong Vegeta?…don’t leave me…" Silent tears rolled down. "Bulma…say you forgive me…" He gently stroked her face. "I love you my queen never forget that." Bulma softly kissed him. "Goodbye my King…I love you." Vegeta started to rise into the sky. "Tell Trunks I’m proud of him."
‘Blood…blue eyes…NO…I will not be defeated…yes you will kill your mistakes…NO……I have to go away I can’t hurt them… everything’s blurring…I can’t stop now…this has to finish……NOW…’
One Month Later…
Chi Chi, Gohan, Goten, Trunks and Bulma all stood at the pond watching over the tree graves. They had buried Vegeta also at the same pond but not under the tree. On top of a small hill stood a granite tombstone. Trunks had carved the words in with his Ki. The last king of Vegetasei. The group stood quietly until Goten slowly spoke out what was on his mind. "We are the last ones not? When we go the entire sayjin race goes. The buck stops here." He didn’t get an answer. The group remained watching the setting sun throwing various shades of light over the three graves. |
