Videl first appears in DBZ Episode 200, where we learn that she is not only a student at Orange Star High School, but also Mr. Satan's daughter. As the day wears on, we also find out that she's the one most likely to figure out just who the "Golden-Haired Warrior" is. Then she becomes the discoverer of the Great Saiyaman's identity, and used his pleas for family privacy to her advantage; she blackmailed Gohan into entering the World Martial Arts Tournament and teaching her to fly.

During the time when she's learining to fly, Videl becomes good friends with Gohan, and also with Goten. Chichi becomes dead set on getting Videl and Gohan married. Of course, to this Videl is oblivious.

At the Tournament, Videl gets her butt whooped in the first round. The only person she wants to talk to during this time is Gohan. ^_^ How cute! G/V are such a cute couple!

Ahem. Anyways, she tries to go along with Gohan to the place where Kaioshin and the rest flew off to, but she can't make it because she's not that used to the wind yet, or flying as fast as they need to. So the goes back, meeting briefly with Goten and Trunks before finally making it back to the arena.

Then, Videl is enlisted on the DB-hunters team to locate the Dragonballs that she knows virtually nothing about. Nonetheless, she goes, and plays a substancial part in the collection of the shiny, orange objects. Thus, they have to drop the DBs off at Kami's Lookout.

I'm a little hazy when it comes to the events of the next while, but I do know that she gets killed by Buu—I'm fairly sure she's turned into chocolate and eaten. But I'm not positive. Either way, she gets wished back along with the rest of the planet when they wish back the victims of Buu.

She marries Gohan some time after the Buu saga, and has a daughter they call Pan for some reason or another. And in GT, Videl plays an extremely minor roll that's not even really worth describing here.
